I transcribed the temperature data of 28 days (4 weeks), to the extent corresponding to 200mb. The result:



















Le due linee colorate indicano le temperature critiche con 60% di umidità e con 0% di umidità. In altre parole, quando il grafico sta sotto la linea inferiore, la temperatura è tale da garantire la formazione di contrail A PRESCINDERE dall'umidità dell'aria. contando un po', si trova che, nelle prime due settimane considerate, su 28 sondaggi, 15 (il 53%) danno valori di temperature in quota tali da garantire comunque la formazione di contrail. Nelle altre due settimane, si hanno 23 sondaggi (82%) con scie "certe".

Ma perché parlo di due settimane e due settimane? Semplice, perché quel grafico è composto da dati di due mesi diversi: le prime due settimane sono di LUGLIO 2008 e le seconde due di GENNAIO 2009!

Due cose saltano all'occhio:
1) L'enorme differenza nelle temperature al suolo tra estate e inverno confrontata con la relativa costanza dei valori in quota
2) L'insensibilità della temperatura in quota all'alternanza giorno-notte

Se ci si pensa un attimo, si capisce che ciò non è per niente strano: l'aria è TRASPARENTE, e si riscalda più per i moti convettivi (aria calda che sale, aria fredda che scende) che per l'irraggiamento solare; a differenza del suolo, dove invece entrambe le componenti sono importanti. Insomma, estate o inverno, al limite della stratosfera fa sempre un freddo cane, e le scie ci possono essere molto spesso.
